Hi, this is Ryan with Synergy. I’m here to discuss an EOS-inspired approach to financial management—and how it can boost your business performance and growth.
Disclaimer: I’m not an EOS Implementer. I’m just a passionate fan who has worked with many EOS companies. If you’re doing boot camp or want professional implementation, I encourage you to do that.

The first thing we do is align your financial goals with the Vision Component.
You’ve got to do your VTO and make sure your 7–10 year goals—your BHAGs—are in place. Then, backtrack from there:
3-year picture
1-year plan
90-day rocks
Everything should align with reaching that 10-year BHAG.

(01:14)
We take a top-down approach: from your 10-year goal to your 3-year target, to your 1-year goal, and finally your four 90-day rocks.
Also, your financial goals should become rocks.
If you want to implement Profit First or open a second location, then that research and planning needs to become a 90-day priority.

(01:46)
The second thing: drive financial performance with data.
You need the right KPIs in your scorecard. You should be reviewing those metrics:
Weekly
Monthly
Quarterly
Annually
And more importantly—talking about them regularly. These KPIs help you gauge if you’re running your business effectively.

(02:13)
Next up: improve cash management.
Make it easy for your customers to pay you.
Follow up on past-due collections.
Manage your vendor relationships well.
You can create processes for all of this, and build related rocks and issues to support positive cash flow.

(02:47)
Finally, solve financial problems using the Issues Component.
Identify them. Discuss them. Solve them.
When you notice common patterns in your issues, go upstream—fix the process, not just the symptoms.
Open discussion as a leadership team allows more thoughtful solutions across departments.

(03:16)
